'Sea of Green'
by
Steve Bonner
'I
think this painting of a fisherman's house in St.
Phillip, Barbados, is both enchanting and dramatic. It captures that strange clear light as the sunlight
creeps under advancing
storm clouds - possibly the only time I've been able to paint tropical greens
in
shades of Veridian.' -SB.

'Bottom
Bay' by
Steve Bonner
'Surely
any visitor to Barbados has been at least once to this
fabulous bay on the south east Atlantic coast. The sea
certainly isn't the millpond it is on the Caribbean side,
but by heaven, this bay is beautiful.'- SB.

'Atlantic
Rain' by
Steve Bonner
'The
meadow above Bottom Bay in St. Phillip, Barbados. This was
one of those days where it alternates between sun and
showers. Standing on the rain-soaked cliff the clouds
were, at this point, releasing their deluge into the
Atlantic for a change.' -
SB.

'Late
Afternoon - Kings Beach' by
Steve Bonner
'Late
afternoon on the West coast of Barbados. A magical time of
day, when the sun is low in the sky and the colours are a
little stronger, the shadows a little deeper. A very
evocative painting!' -SB.

West Coast and this fabulous bay is home to Lone Star, The
Royal Pavilion and, tucked away between the palm trees,
Ju-Ju's, which just happens to be the artist's favourite
beach bar.' - SB.

'Surf
and Spray' by
Steve Bonner
'The
wonderful rock formations along the east coast of
Barbados. The difference between the stormy Atlantic and
the tranquil Caribbean west coast is astounding. This
painting depicts breakers at St. Martins Bay. Coming from
the UK as I do it's hard to look at this painting and
remember - I was warm, so delightfully warm!' -SB.

'Sandridge
Palms' by
Steve Bonner
The
Sandridge Resort, at Kings Bay on Barbados' Caribbean west
coast, boasts this splendid group of Coconut Palms leaning
(as any self-respecting Coconut Palms should!) out towards
the sea. When I last visited the whole resort was being
re-developed - I only hope these trees are still there' -

laden clouds and the last rays of the setting sun
illuminate this farmer in St. Phillip, as he leads home
his sheep - I love this little painting' -SB..

'Far
Away' by
Steve Bonner
'The
location for this evocative figure painting is Cluffs Bay
on the northern shore of Barbados. As a toy sailing boat
bobs around in the surf a young mother talks to her baby
son. This was the first time I'd ever painted black
skin - and I was simply blown away - black it's anything
but! In bright sunlight the shadows are deepest Indigo and
maroon and the highlights are lilac! Stunningly, simply
stunningly, beautiful skin! ' - SB.
